Upgrading Floringi Village
Floringi village in Mvita Constituency could have best been described as a cocktail of foul smell, stagnant surface water, uncollected garbage, floods (during rain seasons) and human settlement- all of these as a result of poor drainage/wastewater management.

Thanks Bamburi Special Products Ltd who partnered with Citizen Forum Trust (C.F.T) a local Non Governmental Organization headed by Hon. Najib Balala and United Nation Environmental Project (UNEP).

BSP provided technical support in paving roads and walkways using the unique BamburiBlox concrete paving blocks developed using modern technology.

Further BSP offered to impart practical skills to hundreds of Floringi youths, who voluntarily participated by way of providing labour on the application of BamburiBlox. "Those who participated will proudly apply their skills in self employment and other opportunities," said BSP Ltd General Manager Tariq Iqbal during the unveiling of the Floringi Upgrade Project dinner held at Mombasa on February 17th 2006.

Mr. Tariq reiterated the need for partnerships that will work to put in frameworks for structured environmental management programmes. This he said was the best example and needs to be implemented further to similarly deserving communities across the country.
